The fix is simple actually... cut spending and increase revenue. If we had to pay a dollar for a dollar of services our tax rate would be MUCH higher. Therefore what we need to do is cut spending a certain percentage and raise taxes a certain percentage and meet in the middle.

I need more of you a$$holes to switch to Verizon, thanks to you and Ma Bell I still can't get a decent 3G signal in any airport, city or crowded space. And I can't go CDMA because I go overseas a lot. Otherwise I would have switched in February.

I don't think that I'm physically able to give blood.
I had to get 2 of those small vials they use for blood tests, and I couldn't even walk and passed out. That is not a lot of blood.
I don't weigh very much (107 lbs 5'8"). Is this normal or something about which I should be concerned?
I'd say that is rather light indeed. If this is the only problem you experience with it, though, I'd say you needn't be too concerned. Just try to put on a few pounds in the long run, no biggy. And until then, your own physical health comes first.
BIG thumbs up to MacRumors for doing this, and to all who donate. I've donated a few times, always got me feel sick for about an hour or so afterwards, sometimes more than others. Since it didn't seem to be decreasing after a few donations, I decided to not donate for a while. Actions like these get me to reconsider. Which is a good thing IMO.
Edit: And as to the gay men being unable to: that sucks. I'm not wanting to get into the discussion, but I think I see where it comes from and I think it's kinda ********.

4.3.1 is terrible on the 4th gen iPod touches. Home screen animations lag and more often than not skip totally. battery life is down, apps from the multitasking tray aren't usable upon switching to them for a few seconds - it's just terrible.
Thankfully, I had been jailbroken so I'm back on 4.2.1.

That's probably true, but I can hardly delete it, then he'd report me for silencing my own critics  :p
Maybe you could delegate some authority to Demis or Contributors for doing your dirty work, then we temporary iMods could do your bidding without your hands getting dirty. To ensure that none of us became too power hungry, you could randomly rotate through a list of candidates using a technique called the the iMod Shuffle.

The iOS ecosystem is more mature than the Android system, and for that I am very happy for being on the iOS bandwagon.
Android doesn't have an ecosystem. The only thing that's close to have a full ecosystem is MS but even that lacks in a lot of major areas. So does apple's though in terms of mail/calendar/contact and sync in general. [MobileMe is NOT free. :|]
webOS seems pretty good but HP swears not to ship any product until the others swipe the market already.
I love the Apple ecosystem. It's so rich and fits in every day life; from pro-work to easy living, its all there.

Here. I always like the home cloud concept, where you get your own personal server and can transfer data/sync through the cloud. So you own your data instead of trusting it to someone else.
I'm moving in the opposite direction. I ran my own server for years. Now my web site resides on App Engine and my data will be backed up off site. Much less hastle than before.

I don't know if I'd run my own library either... but the site is quite attractive, and the concept is novel.

Anyone have a dead macbook they're parting out, or picked up one for a project and don't need the bezel? I'm looking for one. White. C2D 2.2, if it matters.
Thanks!

In addition to giving blood and/or platelets I encourage everyone to register as a stem cell donor. Nowadays stem cell donation is quick and virtually painless, and you can save the life of a desperately ill person whose illness can be eradicated with just a few vials of your life-saving stem cells.
http://www.marrow.org/JOIN/Join_Now/join_now.html
Stem cell donors are urgently needed, there is a huge shortage and long wait lists from patients who are dying. I have a complex blood plasma cancer and might need a stem cell donor at some point in the future to save my life. Please register, it only takes a few minutes. The chance you will ever actually be needed as a donor is small (you'd have to be a perfect match on many blood criteria), and if you are contacted you can still refuse, so you are not committing to anything just by signing up.

I've been thinking about that: remember when there were rumors of OS X delays because the Mac team was pulled onto the iOS team in order to get 3.0 out? I'm wondering if the opposite is happening now - the iOS team has been pulled onto the Lion team in order to get Lion ready for a summer launch.
This begs another question.
I know Apple likes to have very agile teams that can be pulled into whichever project needs the most attention at the time, but if OS X is taking a hit because of iOS, iOS is taking a hit because of OS X, iWork hasnt been refreshed, let alone iWork for iOS, etc, etc, it sounds like Apple just needs more engineers.

While I'd like to applaud MacRumors for instituting a blood drive, it seems particularly cruel in that there is a larger percentage of gay men among Apple fans than in the general population.
And we can't donate.
For political reasons, not scientific ones.
Even the American Red Cross wants our blood:
http://thechart.blogs.cnn.com/2010/06/14/ban-on-gay-men-donating-blood-upheld/
Talk about risk factors--what about closeted gay men who screw random strangers, having unprotected sex, and then go home to their cozy wife & kids? If their wife/workplace encourages them to donate blood, are they going to reveal their sexuality and not donate? Sure, they can go through the act and check the box so their blood gets thrown away... but if they're ****ing guys behind their wives' backs, why would they show any honesty or compassion for their fellow humans.
You know this must be happening every day. And yet where are the news stories of people being infected with HIV. There are none. Because we have tests now--we've had them for a while--to detect HIV. So the blood isn't used.
So why can't out gay men donate?
No scientific reason. It's political.
The Human Rights Campaign, the American Red Cross, America's Blood Centers and AABB, formerly known as the American Association of Blood Banks, support easing the lifetime ban to allow gay blood donors. In a joint statement, the blood organizations said that safety was the first priority and that potential donors should be screened more fairly, regardless of sexual orientation.
About three months ago, Sen. John Kerry and 17 other senators signed a letter to the FDA blasting its "outdated" policy.
Gay men, including those who are in monogamous relationships, are forbidden from contributing blood for the rest of their lives, while "a heterosexual who has had sex with a prostitute need only wait a year [before giving blood]. That does not strike me as a sound scientific conclusion," Kerry wrote in a March 9 letter.
